Who is Dr. Hakan?
Dr. Hakan graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. Ranking among the top 10 in Turkey’s Medical Specialty Exam (TUS), he began his residency at the Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic of Ege University. This training provided a strong foundation in aesthetic surgery and reconstructive surgery in Turkey.
International Education & Fellowships
In 2000, Dr. Hakan was awarded a scholarship fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston (USA)—an institution internationally recognised for surgical innovation. During this program, he advanced his expertise in aesthetic plastic surgery while conducting research in experimental microsurgery. His study, “Gene Therapy in Microvascular Vein Grafts”, was part of the Human Genome Project and became the first publication of its kind in Turkey (2001).
In 2002, he joined the Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship at Chang Gung University Hospital in Taiwan, home to the world’s largest plastic surgery clinic. Selected as the only foreign surgeon that year, he performed advanced procedures in face and jaw surgery, endoscopic breast augmentation, and facial rejuvenation techniques.
After returning to Turkey in 2003, he continued his fellowship under Professor Onur Erol and later became the first surgeon to pass both the written and oral examinations of the Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
